Goring Gap local Origin wildflower mixtures for Southeast England.
The ‘Goring Gap’ South East Local-Origin mixture range is to be preferred for sites in Southeast England. The range is composed entirely of wildflowers and grasses which originate in, and are ecologically appropriate to, Southeast England. This minimises the risk of adverse impact on local natural populations of wild plants by invasion of, and interbreeding with, plants introduced in meadow seed mixtures sourced from outside the region.

Our grass mixture is harvested from ‘Park Meadow’, an area of ancient grassland in the Thames valley which has not been ploughed or ‘improved’ within living memory. These wild grasses are less competitive than modern agricultural grass varieties so are the ideal complement to wildflowers in ‘meadow mixtures’. ‘Goring Gap’ wild flowers have been nursery-grown from seed collected within wild populations mainly in the Chilterns and the Thames Valley.
The standard mixtures contain 80% grasses and 20% wildflowers. Each mixture is formulated to be appropriate to a specific soil type or ecological purpose, as defined in the list below.
